Excited. Anxious. Overwhelmed. Hopeful. These are just a few of the feelings I have about moving to Japan in just a little over 2 months. So many things to do. So little time to prepare. Overall, I have a good feeling about the decision to move to Japan. My past experience in Japan felt like it was cut short. How could one possibly do everything there is to do in Japan in just four short months while also attending classes 5 days a week? Impossible. This extended stay will hopefully allow me to experience Japan in more ways than I was able to previously. I want to see the whole country, everything from the beaches of Okinawa to the snow covered mountains of Hokkaido. I don’t care if I have to travel alone sometimes. In fact, I am very excited to be moving to Japan all by myself. Personally, I don’t believe people do enough things by themselves. One of my favorite Instagram users, Seppukutime, captured exactly how I feel about this:
Over the next two months, I am going to create a list of goals to accomplish in Japan, a bucket list if you will. I am going to be selfish on this journey and make sure that I do all of the things that I want to do, not what everyone else wants to do. I am very excited to see what’s to come for me and to share it with you all along the way!
